A Long, Strange Summer

Hey Everyone! I can't believe it's August already and that it's been over a month since I updated my update.

First of all, I want to say thank you to everyone who sent well wishes and thoughts my way regarding George Carlin's death in late June. It was sad for the entire comedy community and the outpouring of love and admiration for him really drove home how lucky I was to have been able to meet and work with him. It was easily the biggest thrill of my career and something I'll never forget.

I wrote a brief article about working with Carlin for my friend's website and if you're interested you can check it out here.

Great Scotland!

Tomorrow I head out to Edinburgh to perform at the Free Fringe, part of the International Fringe Fest! These will be my first shows ever in the U.K. and I'm really excited. I plan on blogging regularly from there, so check out my blog or back here in the window above where the latest two blog posts reside.

The main show will be every day from noon to 1 pm (I know, I'm flying across the Atlantic for a nooner!) and I'll be splitting the bill with fellow NYC comedian Liam McEnenaney. Best of all, the show is FREE! So get yourself to Scotland and come check it out.

I'll also be doing a few guest spots in other shows while I'm there, here are the details:

August 7-13

This Fall

So my fall schedule is still a little up in the air due to aforementioned loss of Carlin, but I do have some college gigs coming in and there are a lot of tentative dates that I'll be posting as the come together.

Right now I have college gigs in various parts of the country, check out the schedule for the list and sign up on my mailing list if you'd like to be notified about upcoming public gigs in your area.

I Have Smart Friends

I have a couple of friends that have books out this summer and they're both really funny. If you're looking for that last beach read of the season, both of these will be great:

MIserable Excuse

First of all, YAAMEFAH is a brilliantly executed concept. It's a choose your own adventure style book, but instead of being written for kids it's target audience is the thirty-something who can't make decisions regarding his life.

Bob Powers is a great writer currently working at 23/6 dot com. and he's the writer behind Happy Cruelty Day, another hilariously funny book. Pick them both up.

mass historia

Mass Historia comes to us from Chris Regan, who wrote for the Daily show for several years (and won like 4 or more Emmys with them, I can't even keep track anymore). It's a hilarious take off of those This Day in History kind of books and it's full of a year's worth of great stuff.
